WAC Wonder Web
WAC Wonder Web is a multimedia web based project for young people with learning disabilities in which young people have developed and will control an exciting new web site (www.wacwonderweb.co.uk) equipped with its very own radio station as well as blogs, video, podcast and audio content. From our base at Interchange studios our young producers are busy using state of the art equipment to create content that will contribute a diverse and friendly online space for young people to share ideas and views about the world around them. The radio station provides live shows and a recorded stream to be broadcast across the globe.
Led by the Young Person's Steering Group, WAC have been running regular courses to encourage and assist young people to create and manage content on the site. These include courses in radio production, becoming a roving reporter (in which the young people were trained by BBC presenter Jackie Roper before interviewing Casualty star Martina Laird), podcasting, blogging, web design and animation.
